Colorado Motorcycle Driver’s License
Basic Requirements for the License
For new applicants who are over 18 years old, you have to complete the general requirements listed below to get a motorcycle endorsement:- Pass the motorcycle written test.
- Pass the motorcycle driving skill test at any Driver’s License Office in Colorado or at any third party test centers.
- Pass the vision test.
- Pass the physical aptitude review.
- Undergo a review of the Driving Record.
- Pay the required fee.
Youth Applicants
For new applicants of motorcycle endorsement who are between 16 and 18 years old, you must complete the requirements above and the following:-
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Provide an affidavit of liability or parental content.
- Must have a motorcycle instruction permit for 12 months.

- Proof of completion of the Motorcycle Operator Skills Training or MOST programs.
- Once you completed the aforementioned prerequisites, you will be given an instruction permit that will allow you to practice driving motorcycle under a supervision of a licensed driver.

- Drive under the supervision of your MOST instructors or a parent or guardian who signed the affidavit of liability.
- If you are not driving a parent or guardian, you need to have their permission to ride with an adult over 21 years of age that possess a valid Colorado driving licensed endorsed for motorcycles.
The Motorcycle Safety Training Course
If you don’t have a driver’s license, you have to enroll first at a Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course. These programs are offered also by the third party instructors teaching approved curriculum for motorcycle training. This course is generally a 15 hour program that will cover all facets of the motorcycle for a new rider. This will also include both written and skills test.After you completed these steps, you should have successfully obtained your Colorado Motorcycle Driver’s license.
