New Jersey Motorcycle Driver’s License
Basic Requirements for the License
To get a motorcycle permit in New Jersey, applicants must:-
- Be at least 17 years old.
- Complete and pass the application permit from the MVC Agency.
- Pass the 6 Point ID Verification.
- Pay the required fees.
- Pass the written and vision test to validate your permit.
- Pass the road test.
- Apply for a motorcycle permit at your local Motor Vehicle Agency.
- Pass the knowledge and vision tests.
- Set up appointment for the road test at your local MVC.
- Pay the required fees.
- Be at least 17 years old. Applicant’s less than 18 years old must have a parent or guardian’s permit.

- Operate a motorcycle from one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise.
- Ride on any state toll road or limited-access highway.
- Carry passengers.
Avoiding the Skills Test
If you don’t want to take the road test, you have to take the Motorcycle Safety Education Program Basic Rider Course. Anyone who is under 18 years old is also required to take the Basic Rider Course. After the completion of the course, you have to provide the testing center with:- 6 Point ID Verification.
- Completion card from the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
- Waiver Certification Form.
- Stamped Permit.
- You did not have enough practice.
- You lack knowledge about motorcycle driving.
- Your face shield or goggles are not approved by the MVC.
- You don’t wear a helmet.
- You don’t have the exact equipment according to state regulations.
- Be at least 17 years old and have a parent or guardian consent.
- Pay the required fee.
- Pass the vision test.
- Provide proof of identification by passing the 6 Point ID Verification.
- Bring course completion documents to any driver testing center.
