Preparation is Key

To maximize participation in the Skills Practice Class, follow these essential guidelines:

A street-ready motorcycle
Motorcycle endorsement, permit or license (check with local H-D dealer for details)
Proof of valid motorcycle insurance
Before attending the class, conduct a thorough pre-ride inspection on your motorcycle to ensure it meets all requirements. Key areas to check include: + Tires: dry rot, tread depth, and air pressure + Controls: functioning levers, pedals, cables, and hoses + Lights and Mirrors: operational headlights, turn signals, taillights, and mirrors + Oil and fluids: oil levels and no visible leaks + Chassis: suspension front and rear functionality and tightness

Dressing for Success

To ensure a safe and productive experience on the range:

Wear DOT-approved helmet
Utilize full fingered gloves
Don long sleeve shirt
Choose sturdy jeans or riding pants
Opt for over-the-ankle footwear
Range Experience

The Skills Practice Class is conducted in accordance with weather conditions, so be prepared to adapt. Dress accordingly, and don't forget: + Rain gear (rainy days are not a deterrent) + Layered clothing for temperature fluctuations + Snacks and water to maintain mental focus + Information regarding lunch arrangements will be provided

Course Overview

During the Skills Practice Class:

Your coaches will guide you through an introduction, outlining course objectives, exercise instructions, and demo ride routes.
A series of 30-40 minute exercises will help develop specific skills:
Control at low speeds
Risk management
Limited space maneuvers
Cornering judgment
Swerving and stopping quickly on straights and in curves
Multiple curve maneuvers and surmounting objects
Reward and Recognition

Upon completion of the Skills Practice Class, riders will receive an MSF Basic Rider Course 2 completion card. This certificate may be used to qualify for motorcycle insurance discounts.
